THE FUTURES FELLOWSHIP

Students Wanted.

At Futures, we orient ourselves around diverse perspectives.

Spanning across disciplines, majors, hobbies, and cultures, our fellows bring their interests and skills with them – and we want to learn from you and about you.

This is an opportunity to jump-start your career in this changing-by-the-day industry.

The Fellowship.

We are looking for motivated collaborators- from authors to makers to help research, test, learn and write about emerging technologies and platforms. Think generative media of all kinds, new community platforms, wearables, volumetric tech and more. The work is in the service of helping our clients—some of the world’s leading brands—drive their businesses forward.

Apply to one of our fellowship opportunities below.

THE DETAILS

While there are distinctions, all fellows work collaboratively across the research side and creative side. Our creative techies are usually put to work exploring the more technical aspects of our projects, while our researchers/writers get to focus on distilling various topics in emergent tech and culture.

What we look for: We orient ourselves around diverse perspectives because we care about what you bring to the table. Our applications are reviewed blind (in other words, we don’t look at your name or what school you go to — we look at what you have to say.)

Breaking the Norms: We understand that application processes can be challenging and sometimes frustrating, that’s why we are committed to break the old patterns and committed to it as transparent as possible and to keep you informed of each stage of the review.

Passion vs Education [/ qualifications]: We are looking for someone with a passion for media and technology, regardless of the academic background. The only requirements are a strong ethic, curiosity, and a discovery mindset.

Follow the link above to submit an application. You will need to submit a resume, a cover letter, portfolio (if applicable.) and prepared response to our application questions.

The Fellowship is a paid, 40 hour a week commitment, running from early June to mid August. Our team is based out of New York, but Fellows can work remotely from anywhere in the world during EST work hours.

HEAR FROM PAST FELLOWS

“I’ve never felt more challenged to use the full extent of my weirder media knowledge — I got to be true to myself instead of just delivering what I thought my bosses wanted to hear. I learned from the other fellows and feel that I have a much better understanding of the evolving media landscape.”

Check out what our past students have to say.
