The next big thing on Instagram is now under testing, this feature would let users control what they see on the feed, and it would allow them to get updates and content from verified accounts on Meta. The news came directly from Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, announcing this feature under testing via the IG Broadcast Channel that centers on the app’s updates.

Users can see different content on their feed, mostly from the accounts they follow, and some suggested by the platform’s algorithm, but that is soon about to change. According to Instagram’s Mosseri, there is a new feature coming soon, now under testing to feature “verified-only” accounts’ content.
In his latest post via IG’s broadcast channel, “We’re testing a way for people to explore their Instagram feed and reels by toggling to only Meta Verified accounts. We’re exploring this as a new control for people and a way for businesses and creators to get discovered.”
It remains unknown how many people are already involved in this test, or if it is open to try via a beta, but Mosseri invited users to let them know “if you’d be interested in using this.”

Meta Verified Content Filtration
Currently, tapping on your feed, particularly the Instagram app logo, will give users a choice to see a feed based on their “Following” or “Favorites” list. However, soon, it would be adding a third option called “Meta Verified” which would show the content-verified accounts for better visibility for creators and businesses, hinting that it would be for all with the checkmark.
With this, the blue checkmark version of Meta would be more appealing to those who want better visibility and engagements, costing them $11.99 for the web or $14.99 via the app, a monthly subscription.
Instagram’s New Features
Controlling one’s content, audience, and online presence is already achievable via Instagram, with the company still adding more functions that would allow users to decide what they want for their account. There is a new feature under development from the platform that centers on allowing users to share their IG Stories to “multiple audience lists,” and not only to their followers or close friends.
Apart from that, Instagram also saw a massive AI development from Meta, and this came amidst the Meta Connect event which detailed the company’s plans and integration of machine learning technology. Generative AI is now available on Instagram to help edit images or create stickers right on the app, making content creation easier for all users.
It is expected that more is coming for Instagram in the future, as massive plans from Meta and the platform are in place to push social media to the top tiers. Verification is slowly growing on Meta, with the company already curating the feed to feature the subscribed users only, best known for claiming the legitimacy to their identity, with a special feed for Verified accounts to appear.
