ITV has invited applications for a head of generative AI innovation.
The newly created position aims to grow the strategy and execution of AI-driven transformation across the company’s broadcast and streaming output.
According to the job specification, the individual selected will lead the exploration, development and deployment of cutting-edge generative AI technologies.
In an apparent indication of ITV’s intent, the advert states that the technology will not only be deployed in an operational capacity such as automation and personalisation of its services, but will also “shape the future of content creation.”
The role calls for the successful candidate to “spearhead AI-driven innovations in content creation,” implementing tools such as “AI-generated ideation, character development and enhanced production graphics”.
Addressing concerns over the use of algorithmic creativity that had appeared across social media, an ITV spokeswoman told the Sunday Telegraph, “While nothing can replace the creativity of our teams, we are exploring how Gen-AI can help our staff to work more efficiently and creatively and optimise our content for viewers.”
Applications for the £80,000 position close on 28th October.
